Re: Estimates have come in

I like them both very much.
The Pella is double the cost, more between the glass shade or blind options, triple pane, etc.
The Elegante is excellent.
Either will do a great job. They are very different.

Re: Okna 500, 800 vs Sunrise Restoration

Why ask the question. Why not avoid the issue.
800 Dx and 8800 Elegante are the best chooses.
Why not reach out to DEMike, he does S Jersey and is one of the best mechanics I know.

Re: Impervia sliding door

The only SGD that Pella makes that I endorse is the Lifestlyes or Architect.

If I was looking at a fiberglass SGD i would look at Marvin Essential.

If I wanted the best bang for the buck I would look at Okna Elegante(8800)

Re: Okna 500/600/800 + Elegante

No handles means no lifts.
The majority of people operate windows the same way: unlock, put there thumbs under the top rail and lift. To close they use the top or bottom rail, then lock.

Re: Okna 800 lift rail -- how far does it stick out?

Since your blinds are OB, there should be no problem.

Another option is to order the windows with no sash handles on the lower sash.

Do the 800.
If you don't like the handles, get them with no handles. We have had several clients opt for no handles.

Re: Replacing original vinyl construction windows

Nice interior trim detail. Appears to be 3/4" wood jamb in a 2x6 construction.
I would use the 800 in all openings.
An advantage to a slight down side is able to foam properly and finish off the exterior carefully.

Re: Majestic vs Okna 800

With out a doubt having used both. The 800DX is a better window.

Re: ideal Platinum 3000 vs Simontons Reflections 5500 in MD

I have installed both and do not find them to be worth purchasing.
I would suggest Vytex Potomac or Fortis. Okna/HiMark 800DX or 500DX are excellent.

One thing about rentals, you do not need fancy, but you do need durable.

Sales tactics drive me crazy.
We are so straight forward no pressure, there is no need for the lies and arm twisting.

Zen is an outlier. Either the other two are way off or the Zen is.
I would take the Okna in this case.
