Re: LaCrosse Wisconsin area Windows
As WOW said many of us choose to work with high performance vinyl windows. We know how to spot that and have many years experience with vetting products that we spend decades offering and servicing to our clients. I have been installing windows for 47 years. We install many different mfgs, and equal...

Re: HELP - Need advice for 70+ replacement window project
You should contact my good friend and top contributor on the forum here, Eric at Windows on Washington. Great company and good products. I would suggest Okna 800DX, attractive, well built, good warranty, good QC, and no drafts. There are not enough specs or scope of work to help with pricing. Eric w...

Re: Okna 500 vs 600 difference?
We used to sell the 500DX. We had the opportunity to go with the 600Dx, but that meant we had to not have the 500DX, Okna operating procedure.
We use mostly the 800DX. Hard to find anyone that does not enjoy that window when they have it in their home.

Provia makes great doors.
Okna is my first choice in vinyl windows. In double hung we mostly use the EnviroStar-800DX.
As WOW mentioned TP for you would be good.

Re: Apex vs Sunrise vs Okna
We completed an install yesterday that had hidden rot. If we had seen it we would have suggested full tear/full frame. They were aluminum clad Caradco units. When the jamb liners were removed the frame legs were rotted off of the sill frame. The lower install screws had nothing to go into. The insta...

If you use a razor blade, only use a new one. Old blades can have knicks and burrs in them that can scratch the glass.

Re: Apex vs Sunrise vs Okna
Often contractors have there own bias, some accurate some not. The guy saying there is rot, ask him to show you. There are cases where a jamb liner covers some rot that seriously comprimises the frame. I have had it happen before that if I had seen the sill and legs intersection was so bad I would h...

Re: Windows for a screened in porch.
You will need two twin two section sliders.
I would budget for a low of $3600., to a high of $5000.

Re: Windows for a screened in porch.
Finding a single glazed( monolithic) unit as a single or twin will be difficult. If cost is not an issue contact a glass shop and ask them to quote with tempered store front. Twin sliding windows to fill each opening is going to be the simplest to get done. It can also be done as a single direct gla...
