You call a local glass shop.
Contact the mfg with the order number and window size to get the glass ordered from them.

Re: Premium Replacement Windows

The EVO is a good window. It is a program window, usually reserved for dealers with larger marketing and profit. cost. That is just my opinion. I can not sell it. Even if offered to me I would still sell mostly 800DX as it does almost every thing at a great price point and unbeatable AL, durability,...

Re: Premium Replacement Windows

I think you should look at the Okna 800DX and 600DX. We most often do the 800DX. I would avoid PJ and RBA. Based on the quotes are you using the same install method in all the quotes. What is the install method, insert or full tear? AW 400 series you should only consider Woodwright not TW. We are Pe...

Re: Window Suggestions or Comments

Sunrise vinyl= good. Pella vinyl= bad.

To determine good vinyl DH, look for the air leakage test result . You want .03 or less. You may want triple pane.

Re: Help with Arch Window

I just finished pricing some arch top single hungs.
That is what you are going to use.
You can not do anything fiberglass as it can not be bent.
Marvin signature, Pella Reserve, AW E series with SDLS grids.

Re: Questions about jump frames, getting into the biz

Q1 you are good with that. Q2 if the frame is square I would order the width tight ( 1/8" deduction), the heigh 1/4" deduction if I have to wrack the unit. Q3 what was the frame material? was it direct glazed? It can be done. Q4 Better companies are going to be harder to get in wit. You ha...

Re: Mercury EOS double hung window?

On the surface things look good.
Operating since 1953. Cover a multi state market. Warranty is okay.
What is glaringly missing are structural testing reports or any mention of the testing of how drafty the windows are. This is a red flag.

Re: Can I get away with not cutting the returns for replacement windows?

The Op states he has brick facade. There is plenty of room to put them in the MO. You might do a Randy, foam (you could also backer rod it and then foam) the air gap around the opening before installing the window. This will stop the free flowing air from bothering your new window. You do have to de...

Re: Can I get away with not cutting the returns for replacement windows?

Being less than 18" from the floor is not the only determining factor for safety glazing. Les than 18" to floor and over 9 sq feet is the code. So a double or single hung 36" x 70"" would not require tempered formula: measure the visible glass w x h= x divided by 144 will gi...

Re: Vytex or Sierra Pacific??

I agree with Vytex. But the installer is the other part you need to scrutinize. I would not suggest a factory managed sub contractor install by a giant seller.
