Re: seal failures on softlite imperial ls windows
I probably would have waited for super spacer, but I agree that this is not something that is directly causing seal failures.

That price must be materials only. Just about a 45% markup, that's not even a great profit on materials only let alone install. That company will be out of business very soon, just like the majority of contractors that can't figure out how to price their services sustainably.

Re: replacement window installation
Did your installers fix this? Make sure that they don't drive a screw down through your sill, that will eventually leak water into your wall. I'm a little less optimistic on this than the other guys, to me it looks like you got what you paid for. $500 is not a good price for windows any more, not in...

Re: Alside Mezzo vs. Simonto Pro
I'd throw out those options and keep looking. If you are going to sell in 10 years, most of that list will be due for replacement around that time. Up your budget and you can get a window that will still look and perform like its new in year 10.

Re: Help with window questions
The other guys are giving good advice. Sounds like that ploaris window is your best option. The low end Softlie windows that Zen sells are fine, but the bigger issue is zen itself in my opinion. These are little franchise shops that from what I've seen are not run by industry professionals. They are...

Re: RBA or Pella replacement windows?
I'm wondering if the OP wants 3 for the road, or owns 3 fords?
On the windows, the other guys have it pretty well covered, not much to add there

Re: Questions about vinyl replacement install
Window World, Alside, Revere are AMI products, not Plygem. Late response on that. As for your update, so far so good I guess. Every window that they produce is not going to fall apart or be unsatisfactory, there are just more of them that do/are than many other manufacturers. Same for the install. S...

SL is tops in all those.
Keep 'er away from the baked beans, and she had better have some powerful haunches.
Besides that, I'd also vote for the Soifyle produt here.

I'd be very careful about using those measurements as gospel. They could be before cutbacks, they could be by a sales guy instead of someone with technical knowledge, and lastly, even if they are accurate, you using (with using being the operative word) a free quote to steal something of value is pr...

That's fabulous windowsdirect. Congratulations on your success. Hopefully all of the issues that Sunrise is having don't effect you too terribly in the future. Is Delman in or out these days? Which side of the bed did he wake up on? What is the name of the holding company that owns Sunrise now, I fo...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
Better not hold off for to long before something else gets discontinued 😂 jk.... we install all year round and don’t have any issues. The caulk we use has a range down to like -30 degrees. Generally the installers will leave the caulk in the house until ready to be applied to keep warm and it cures...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
I see so many things wrong with that photo and no matter what brand that is I’m sure we can agree those issues started with that installation. That was someone’s first attempt at installing windows Bad install for sure. Pretty sure that doesn't have anything to do with the Sunrise sill looking like...
