Re: OKNA 500 windows and Noise

Thats very difficult to quantify, what may be noisy to you may not be noisy to the installer. Its certainly not the installers fault.
Also, you claim “ prior to him changing the caulk you could’nt hear a siren”. Changing caulk has nothing to do with sound. I think you may be grasping at straws.

Not sure what state you live in but as far as quality and energy efficiency with a nice looking exterior, you may want to look into Okna Windows.

Re: Soft Lite Element vs Slocomb vs Window World?

I would immediately scratch MI Windows and Window World from that list. They are not what we would consider quality. MI windows and Window World are for “ budget oriented” customers, not those who want quality and plan on living in their homes for a while. MI and Window World are cheap looking and h...

Re: replacement window installation

It probably has nothing to do with the install. The sill or screen may be a little bowed. Either way the installer could probably fix it.

Re: Okna v Harvey v Ideal

The okna 500 and Ideal majestic are good windows. The majestic has a nice look to it. Are these double hung windows? The okna pricing is very competitive. Im not a huge fan of harvey even though i was just at their king of prussia p.a location which is in the philly area. Its now called Lansing but ...

Re: Help with Window World install and capping?

You say that you know window world doesnt have the best reputation but yet you signed a contract anyway?
Cheap prices are cheap for a reason. You have to expect some form of incompetence when you go with a company who markets themselves soley to the price point customer.

Sdl grids are expensive but well worth it. Sunrise do make a nice sdl grid, we actually installed about 10 a few weeks back, although we only use sunrise in certain situations now.

Re: Quality replacement windows other than Okna?

Toddinmn, do you have a website? Do you have a showroom or do you just rely on your garage and pick up truck? Do you do any kind of marketing? What kind of company would you classify yourself as? Installation/sole proprietor? The reason i ask is because you are basically an installer and you wont be...
