Try the AGM Window company, they are up that way. He is one of the Okna dealers.

Re: Simonton 6500 vs Reliabilt 3900
Simonton is a very bulky product and not nearly as efficient-air tight as some of higher end vinyl windows. Most window centric companies dont particularly care for Simonton. Reliablt is definitely a step down and is viewed as a product that roofers and weekend warriors usually choose. Remember, you...

I can tell with confidence that the Soft Lite " Elements" is the clear winner by a huge margin. Looks like you have an easy choice.

Re: Nashville TN- Windows
I would not be worried about lead. You lived in the home how long and didnt get lead poisoning ??? When you remove a window, there really isnt alot of dust, its an over stated concern in my view for the government to of made money. Every time you open and close a door you could conceivably cause lea...

Re: NJ Windows - and can’t break the bank
MI Windows are garbage and pella is just as bad. I also agree with looking at the Okna 600 series, very well built. Okna also make a very nice sliding patio door. Also like Soft Lite's patio door and their "Elements" window.

Re: Should I wrap exterior with metal
Most window companies do a decent job at capping. It's not rocket science. Problems occur when guys that do windows on weekends or basement remodelers that claim to do " everything".

Re: Tax credit eligibility based on energystar.gov list or just by the requirements? (OKNA)
FYI, I never heard of anyone having to show any proof. The 2 popular wood brands haven't met those standards and yet people always get the tax credit although probably out of being uninformed as to what the guidelines were.

Re: Okna vs Others - Windows and Sliders Northern Connecticut
MI Windows are certainly not a well regarded brand. This is a project you want to do once, not twice or you will be paying much more. Okna do a great job with their windows. Far too many homeowners use the age old excuse that " this is not our forever home" and skimp on quality. That is no...

You really need to broaden your search. Those 2 products are not well regarded, particularly the pella impervia.

Thats an older Vytex window and it was their " low end " series . Their 2 upper end product lines are MUCH better designed.

Re: Windows in Central NJ
That part of New Jersey is too far out of our area. We do venture into southern nj from time to time. Try the Agm Windows and Doors Company and see if they go to that area.mesagsxbkr wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 4:20 pm We are in Somerset.
You are correct, I put 19 windows, but it’s 17. I double counted the sliders in the double hung.
