Re: Issues with Anlin Windows in Denver, Colorado
Wow is spot on here. I would first check your home humidity levels. Aside from humidity issues, the first photo looks like there is a fitment issue between the frame and sash. Almost like the window isn't fully closed

Re: Okna Starmark Evo Gut Check
Starmark is just built differently than any other window out there with solid construction. I'm not sure if 2x the price justification is there though. I'll also add that the Restorations price doesn't seem right and seems low for that product

Re: Very large replacement project
I’m not sure Todd. I’d have to do some major digging to find it. We’re talking 2016 or 17.

Re: Very large replacement project
I would make sure you verify the air leakage rate on the Lindsay windows. The window has some nice features but Last time I checked the air infiltration rate was pretty bad

Re: Brands to consider for Denver Colorado
The Kolby air leakage numbers are most likely just reported as a pass/fail of less than .30 Some manufacturers don't publish air leakage numbers which seams to be the case here

I believe there is a company near you Blue Bird windows that offers Anlin and Sunrise. Might be worthwhile to check out

Re: Recent window install
Im with the others, the spacing between the window and frame is normal and expected. The only thing is if the gap is on the smaller side of the spectrum 1/8" foam insulation isn't really a good option imo as I prefer 1/4"-3/8" void for foam. Fiberglass insulation or filling the void w...

If you get in touch with a specific dealer of those products they should be able to provide you with that info.

Re: Input wanted on proposed fix for improperly installed windows
Your willingness to pay extra for the extra work definitely has merit. The tape should also go around the entire window perimeter with proper overlapping….. another less expensive and effective option would be to add another row of flashing tape or house wrap under the flange and properly overlapped...

Re: Input wanted on proposed fix for improperly installed windows
The first photo you show does has flashing tape...Just so we're clear you're asking them to extend the roof flashing up higher to go under the window nailing flange and tape. This is not something that would normally be done during window replacement. Unless it's in the contract to do so it shouldn'...

Re: Window Replacement Advice: Vytex, Sunrise, Pella, SoftLite
Vytex and Restorations are above the rest in this comparison. Depending on the brown you chose, Sunrise may be doing that in a co-extruded vinyl as opposed to paint. I'd definitely prefer that if that's the case. If both are being painted I'd choose whichever installation company you feel will do th...

Re: Polaris Supreme vs Xl Ultimate
Aside from price. I would consider the VT rating in my decision. That low of a number on the XL would indicate pretty dark glass. You may want that or may not but it's worth a mention. Also the .20 u factor would be to qualify for the most efficient list and receive a tax credit but the .23 is still...

Re: Indianapolis - Central Indiana companies
As far as I know Mr window offered both Okna and Sunrise ( they did a few years ago anyway) so they me be a good start to compare and they are also a smaller locally owned operation. You can usually get better service from locally owned operations vs the national companies.

Re: Is this installation information correct?
The way that installer described it is one way to do it (although not a good one in my opinion. What we usually do on this style is cut through the exterior aluminum stop (it's a PITA) but allows us enough room to insulate the new window. We also always wrap the exterior with new aluminum. At least ...
