Sash Replacement Kit - Help/advice
Any idea how much room I have to play with? My windows are fairly square and plum. I had the local lumber yard from which I am getting the windows from, size them up. They didn't seem to think I would have any issues. Of cousre, I am getting the windows from them, so it's probably somewhat biased. I...

Aluminum Clad Extruded vs. Rolled or Plain'ol Wood
I have finally decided to go with the Lincoln Sash Kit and Lincoln sliding patio door. It seems to be the best bang for the buck. The sash kits are rolled aluminum. I hear that extruded is the preferred choice, but I can't get the sash kits in extruded form. The patio door is extruded aluminum. Are ...

Thanks for the responses. I have to agree with the others. The pella windows were not the same as the sash kits. They are window inserts and I did consider these, but you do loose more glass area/space, than the sash kit. So back the the sash kits. I really need advice on what to get, Marvin, Pozzi,...

Sash Replacement Kit - Help/advice
Hello All, After much research and much advice for a SOLID sash replacement kit. I am still confused on what brand of window to get. So here is a summary of where I'm at. I've investigated the brands below for the following spec. Sash Opening: 30x50 Natural Exterior: (I figure unprimed makes it a li...

Lincoln Windows - Sash Kits
Hello All,
I am now looking at the Lincoln sash-kits. Has anyone had any experience with these windows? Good or bad. How would they compare to Pozzi, Norco or Marvin kits. They seem to be on par with the Norco's?
Thanks,

Crestline- CrestFit Replacement Window
I take it these are vinyl only replacement windows. I haven't ruled those out yet, but I'm still more interested in sash replacement kits. Such as Marvin, Jeld-wen or the Crestfit. How much glass space would I loose with the Corona's Could you give a rough estimate on how much the Corona 4000 should...

Marvin Tilt-Pac and Jeld-wen Pozzi Price Estimate's
Does anybody know what a good price would be for the folling window brands? Marvin Tilt-Pac, Jeld-wen Pozzi, or Crestline CrestFit Double Hung w/o screen Sash Opening 30 X 50 Natural Ext. & Int. (I figure I can save money by priming myself) 7/8 Bead Similuated Divided Light 14 Degree bevel Low E...

Crestline- CrestFit Replacement Window
I'm still on my quest for replacement sash kits. A distributor by me carries the Crestline - Crestfit, which is substantially cheaper than the Marvin -TiltPac and Jeld-wen Pozzi. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Crestline - Crestfit, good or Bad? It's about a $100 difference. I know you get what...

Thanks again.

Consider Andco
I am curious about the Andco, but can't find any info. on them. Do they have a website? Why did you find them "to have a MUCH better window". I'm thinking about Marvin Tilt-Pacs or Jeld-wen Pozzi. Any thoughts?

I've recently purchased a 1939 colonial. I plan on replacing 12 windows for both energy efficiency and cosmetic reasons (They’re old). I'm not interested in new construction. My frames seem to be in good condition with no rot and are square. From the limited info. I was able to obtain about r...
