Re: Sash Replacement or window replacement inserts?

It is not professional to indicate pricing because there are so many variables, market conditions etc... the product begins about $4 per square ft, options add. We have done a ton and I like the Hurd system for DIY's. The Jeld-wen hawkins plant, the sash-pak, NOT the zap pak, is another favorite but...

Re: Jeld-wen paint problem

and...hopefully you removed all the weatherstripping before painting and re-installed this after the units were dry. Some of the lower grade paints seem to stick also. Low VOC's, high tackiness. Why did'nt you have the units pre-painted at the factory?

Re: anyone know GERKIN windows??

I looked at them several years ago for the commercial aluminum windows. The feedback from the mfg told me to piss on them. I do not want to do business with people like them. My own opinion.

I would suggest finding an Infinity from Marvin dealer. Soft-lite Imperial LS may be another product to look at.

Re: Replacement Window Selection

Google the CARB requirements for California. The main reason for the A1 Andersen developement and last June the reason Andersen purchased a fiberglass pultrusion company. Fibrex = death, or a shorter life span, simply put. Remember the blue glass from the 70's. All the freon released from Andersen p...

Re: New Construcion-Windows!!!

If your builder recommends silverline you should find another builder. They seem to use sub-par everything to put more $ in their pocket.

Seriously. Tell your builder he does not meet your criteria for a quality builder and don't give him the time of day. He is an idiot.

Re: Best Replacement Windows for Waterfront

Also, I would add to upgrade to stainless steel hardware or what some companies offer as their costal package. I would also suggest fiberglass or a premium vinyl product. Any wood clad product should use mahogany as the species or meranti or cyprus and the clad should be AAMA 2904, 2605 or anodized ...

Lawyers are schisters. Sounds like you are an attorney. Big difference. One is good and one is evil. I think you for the year clarification as I just aged 3 years! So the starmark looses 2" more in dlo width. Thanks WOW. When we have architecturally accurate exterior fancy arse trim we do an inside install soas to not disturb the look on the exterior. It would be like covering crown moulding and dental trim on your eves with straight aluminum. ... depends...

Re: Lifetime warranty

I believe you should read the Magneson-Moss warranty act of 1978 which is basically the horses mouth instead of throwing a dart at the wall. Much of the info above is correct; however...read the section on lifetime warranties and let us know what you find. 8) PS- I may have the name of the...

They must seperate the cost to you for the windows as the roof repairs are not covered under the stimulus package and how else will you know how to calculate your tax credit amount. Let them know your accountant needs to know the product cost of the windows for calculating your tax credit.
