Re: Windsor Windows vs Quaker Windows vs Jeldwen Siteline
I do not think we should worry.
But it would be nice to have some sort of due diligence for our customers sake.

Re: Alabam options - PLEASE HELP!!
The Simonton 5500 series is the way to go. IMO i would look for a different installer, I donot like the foam sitituation as it does not appear to be a pro gun application, which typically would be one or two cans @ $13- $19. Also the vinyl windows can most often be mounted directly in the brick, why...

Jeldwen left a bad taste in my mouth.
I have a customer who looked at Quaker but bought Eagle from me. I like national companies that may be around to warranty their product for the duration of the covered time.

Re: What other brands should I consider?
Most of the pros on here do not do wood installs like AW TW. The AndersenTW 400 series might work out well for you. Look for a Circle of Excellence distributor in your area, ask for a referral to there best window contractor. If that does not work contact Andersen directly ask for the area rep, cont...

Yep, then cut the top of the legs 45* and the top also. You can prefab the whole thing on the ground and then install as a surround. Follow the mfg stated guigelines for joinery.

Re: Alabam options - PLEASE HELP!!
Edwulf, the stated tear out is steel. Also it seems the indication is that impact windows may be required. Army AV, the install price is cheap, go easy on the guy and don't expect the unexpected to be covered in the price. I would look at Simonton 5300 or 5500, they do have impact glass, but I do no...

Use Azek for all. Rip a 5/4 on 7* angle on both front and back for the "show sill".

Re: figuring out manufacturer of existing replacement window
Tell us what town you live in.
DH is double hung. 091097 is probably Sept 10, 1997.
MC2 is maybe the key.
You do not need the mfg, find some one in your area that deals with stry-buc, take them a sample and they can getthe part.

Enery Star will not get you the $1500 ETC. But I should not be your primary concern just a yellow light.
When you get quotes ask for ETC qualified products.

Most the the pros on here would tell you that RBA is very overpriced.
Marvin would preform great.
