The second price is very competitive. I would never do business with someone that gives me a one day price. It is insulting and I as a consumer never appreciated it. I can legitimize maybe taking a hundred bucks off maybe to save the follow up trip out or something like that but almost 15% tells me ...

Product and Installation are critical. Post installation support should be altogether unecessary if the product is ordered and installed properly the first time. Of the windows that you have on the list, the Soft-Lite Imperial LS is the leader of the pack. All of the windows you have listed will hav...

Re: Sidelite crack mechanism
My GC installed the front door and 2 sidelites on a new construction. The installation looked good with no visible problems. A few months later, one of the sidelites has about three hairline cracks (on the exterior pane) that run down the length of the glass for about 6-8 inches. There is no mushro...

Re: Need some advice about the cost of replacement windows
I purchased my grandparents house (where my dad grew up) a couple of years ago. It is a 2 story Colonial that was built in 1937 and has lots of single pane, wooden windows. The house is very cold during the winter and we have pretty high electric bills (the house is all electric) in the wintertime....

The Alside Excalibur and Vytex Heritage are about equal in quality. The Vytex is a little better looking but Alside will probably give you better service. It's been a while since we showed Vytex the door and told them not to bother coming back (search my posts about Vytex for further info) but one ...

Re: Vytex vs. Alside 8'x6' Sliding Patio Door
I have been comparing 8' patio doors for my living room. Both of these patio doors were presented to me - but I do not know which is a better product overall? An Alside Excalibur or a Vytex 6100? I have received comprabe price quotes for both offering Excalibur: Argon gas; Lifetime warantee on the ...

They are local, in fact the main plant is only about 15 miles from me. Getting parts or service shouldn't a problem! In this fairly mild climate would it pay to get the super spacer, low E goes without saying. I'm going to pass on the argon, not really worth it as I understand it leaks out in less ...
