Who is satisfied with their windows? I want to install Alpine brand windows, about 15 of them,,,but I would like to know from someone if these windows will be ok or ? If I remember correctly it's the same window as Alside/Revere/AMI. Do some researching here on those names and you will find more re...

+1 I also recommend the triple/argon as the argon gets you almost the same efficiency as triple/krypton for a lot less money. I recommend triple pane to my customers and I have past customers thank me all the time for talking them into getting it. You won't be sorry. The comfort it provides is well ...

Re: Meister Windows and Siding?

I like the HiMark/Okna 800DX the best for double hung. My close second would be the Soft-lite Imp LS or Elements. theWindowNerd... Close to what my sentiments used to be except I now like Okna much better. I've just had way too many initial quality problems with the Elements over the last five year...

I don't care for their double hungs and sliders but they make a european line of tilt n turns, etc. that is very nice.

Re: Heat Mirror film technology

thanks a bunch...so the heat mirror technology is relatively new? It came out in 1981. I was one of the unlucky souls that sold it in 3 products at the same time. :? I'm sure it has gotten much better though... I'll just never put myself in the position to find out personally. http://...

Re: People's Products - HR40 Windows

I'm honestly not familiar with the company or product so I won't comment specifically on that, but two things I will address: -No window will ever pay for itself in 5 yrs of energy savings. Perhaps if you consider the added value to your home combined with energy savings you are getting closer, but...

Duh.. I got mixed up for a second. I'll email you in a second Brock. As you know, I was trying to set you up with another estimate call near you as you are looking to get a quote for just a couple windows and are a 4 hour round trip. I'll be up your way a couple times this week so we can set ...

Re: Our first replacement quote... and they're getting pushy

I'd be happy to help Rodrigo, even if it's just advice for the central Illinois market. Yes, my company is up by Chicago but I live in central IL. just like you do and we do a fair bit of business there. The window offerings are mostly mid-grade stuff in central Illinois and there are very few premi...

Re: Quote and Reco for Vinyl Replacement Windows in Chicago

I'm very sorry about that lapse on my part. I was not working because of a medical condition that had me bedridden and out of it. I am ok and back working now at full capacity, so if you are still interested I can see you right away for a quote. (I am a dealer for both brands you are interested in)

Re: Milgard Essence vs. Marvin

I've had a lot of customers who bought sash kits before they met me, then hired me later on to replace them with new energy efficient and more airtight windows. In other words, I've met a lot of people who bought sash kits and were then disappointed in the results they got. Do lots of research befor...

The 3M company used to make all those adhesive tapes. Not sure if they still do. It is quite the adhesive product though... Good stuff.

Re: Sunrise Windows tilt-in sliders? Various series of windows?

The 3 lines (Restorations, Vanguard, and base Sunrise) are all based on the same base window, so there won't be a huge difference in appearance (I think perhaps some locks change and stuff like that). The main thing will be some of the upgrades that improve the performance. Sunrise is a very narrow...

Re: Miracle Glass replacement parts

Is the manufacturer still in business that made the windows? If they are, then that is the best source. If not, places like strybuc.com and many others have parts that will fit most windows on the market.
