Re: Excalibur vs Bainbrige vs Imperial LS quote help!

The Soft-lite Imperial LS would be my choice. Not only is it the best performing window in that group, that's a really decent price, too.

Re: Help!!!! Reliabilt or Berkshaire?

My advice would be to invest in a good window even if you have to just do a few at a time. Cheap is cheap and you will get exactly what you pay for purchasing windows. generally harware store windows are made with cheap flimsy vinyl that will deteriorate much faster than higher quality extrusions.

Re: Gorell Radiaflect

Radiaflect is a bit different than a radiant barrier in that it actually has an R-11 rating. The greatest benefit is in Southern climates and the effectiveness is pretty well proven. I don't know what the test results are for Radiaflect specifically, but a standard radiant barrier can save a few hun...

Re: Champion Windows

Gorell is a very well-built window. Some of the other brands most of us like are made by Sunrise, Okna, Soft-lite and Simonton.

Re: Considering Gorell for the first time - Update-quotes

Two things. First, it's better to start your own thread as people can get confused as to which advice being given is advice to them or the OP. Secondly, nobody has any idea what options you were quoted or what's involved in the installation. Try those 2 suggestions and you will be more likely to get...

Re: Gorell Radiaflect

Does anyone have any experience with this? I am looking to replace 8 DH windows and one casement style, I received a quote from an installer and for about $400 he will include radiaflect insulation. That's a very good price. Depending on where you live, it's definitely worth considering. Also, the ...

Re: Marvin Clad Ultimate Double Hung vs Wood Ultimate Double Hun

$500 per window will hardly buy you a decent no frills vinyl window. Keep in mind your insurance companies goal is to pay as little as possible. I think if you get a couple of estimates and present them to the adjuster, they may reconsider. I can also tell you that if you are dealing with a "st...

Re: OKNA WINDOWS

+1
The best way to determine if you are getting the most for your money is to Listen to several dealers and then check out the one(s) you feel most comfortable with. References, Angies List, BBB etc.

Re: OKNA WINDOWS

I think you may be misunderstanding the value this site offers. It is a place for consumers, interested in educating themselves, can come to sort through information and ask questions in order to determine the best window for their particular needs. It is not here to help consumers obtain the lowest...
