I must disagree. Even with units made by the same manufacturer, with the same spacer and gas fill... the performance of the glass unit increases with the width of the space.. it does not diminish over 3/4" or any other nearby increment. Even the difference of 1/8th of an inch in overall I.G. th...

Congratualtions What products do the other eight dealers carry? You can get more window and more window(s) with some other brands. Unless you plan to install them yourself, I can tell you that $3,000 will not cover 14 decent windows... but it will get you started. With installed Renewal, you may get...

I am not exactly sure why. I do know a few regular posters that were Gorell supporters and dealers but have changed direction after finding superior products. On the old board, many, including myself gave honest opinions on products freely... Good and Bad. Unfortunately, when the posts were not favo...

Schuco doesn't install. They use certified installers that are trained and provided by exclusive dealers. As I have stated in past, a sq/ft price or a general rule unit price offered by anyone for any installed window product is rediculously innaccurate. There are so many variables such as area, ins...

Mybaby I sent you an email contact over at Schuco corporate... hope it helps. Although it is unfortunate that their was a problem with the dealer, you made a very well founded decision with the Schuco product. It is simply the finest on the market. Since you already have a vested interest, you may w...

Park Avenue Windows
W4U I have to admit I got a chuckle out of the Park Ave. poster instead of the window at the homeshow. Your comments about the conversation with the rep was even more entertaining. The Park Avenue Window is a fancy name for a Thermal Industries product. I had spoken to the Dealer Developement Manage...

EZ This is just my opinion... but I see "quality" manufacturers using fiberglass sharing perhaps 20% of the market. I see the composites as less. In the case of the fiberglass products, they are very strong, but are mostly used with mechanically fastened corner joints... not fusion welded....

Dean I spent several days at the Marvin Plant in Warroad, MN about 4 years back. I was extremely impressed by the history, the fabrication and the family focus. In my opinion, they make the finest wood window on the market. One day during my visit, having lunch with Susan Marvin, I asked her if they...

Schuco
You hit a few of the reasons on the head. Schuco is very well known in dozens of other countries but has only been in the states for about 6 years. They also do not (as of yet) do direct advertising so the dealers do their own. As I understand it, this is to keep costs down. Name recognition takes a...

Depending on the window and the installation... $529 is still midrange in the window market. Doesn't shock me. Nationwide, double-hung replacements range from $300 to $1,000 each depending on installation difficulty, area and product selected. On a brighter note, they have one of the highest returns...

Great Question
In the building industry, it usually takes about 20-30 years for concepts and ideas to become action. If you think about it, 30 years ago... windows didn't even have Low-E/Argon... let alone being concerned with SHGC numbers. Those that place 90% of any information on the subject, are invested in th...

The difference in BTU loss or gain from windows with a U of 0.28 to one with 0.30 would be relatively insignificant in energy cost savings. However, if your concern is return on investment, that changes things a bit. Spending a bit more on a window that is better built, better performing and better ...

Suggestion
Although I believe numerous responses were given to this before on the old site, I'll try again. As I recall, your order was placed with New England Sash... a Schuco Dealer. Unfortunately, I do believe you were misinformed about sagging sculptured grids. They are aluminum... they wouldn't have sagge...
