Here's my two cents... Benefitting overall from a reduction in a consistant thermal boundary (a higher U-factor) to obtain a periodic gain from solar heat is a very complex process to predict and obtain successfully. Even the very best solar energy product producers will not/cannot predict energy sa...

Unfortunately, there are a few problems with your theory. You can get Heating/Cooling Degree Day averages geographically but you would be hard pressed to get info for wind. Even if you could you would not have a way to adjust the calculations for elevation and exposure. Next, you would have to test ...

I'd like to see Cardinal (or someone else) come out with a clear solar panel that can actually be used in manufacturing windows. Think about it... windows and skylights that actually produce energy instead of being measured in increments of loss and eliminate the unattractive solar panels covering t...

Re: Energy gains
I'm trying to work out a way to best calculate energy savings on a comparison of existing windows and replacement windows. I figure there are three areas to focus on Infiltration - I think this is the big one and I have worked out a formula, I will share it once its finished Convection - this is ba...

http://www.usglassmag.com/Door_and_Window_Maker/Backissues/2008/February/whatsnews.htm They are discussing phasing in the changes over time. See the chart for timelines. I for one don't need a mandate or to wait until 2015 to recommend windows with a U-factor in the .20 range. I don't think that con...

I would recommend not putting your ear there then, and you probably won't hear the noises. ANY operational window will have leakage.

Even the dealers are still in the dark. I suppose consumers will find out after the dealers but the last word I received about a week and a half ago directly from Schuco-USA was, "We have no obligation to consumers.. only to provide product to dealers." They are very incorrect in this assu...

The company website is wrong and misleading. They are referring to center of glass (the warmest spot, about the size of a quarter), not the enitre window, and intentionally misleading consumers like Nate. Watch how quickly they change it. Check the NFRC. Everyone has a website, and can say whatever ...

I am not worried about being baited. I am extremely well prepared legally, scientifically AND diagnostically to defend and even better prepared to attack if necessary. Most people that know me really well know this. It's Schuco's call.... I am sure we will see soon enough how they handle this. In th...

Here is the post I deleted. Maybe you will get it now. pbiancardi Your position is easy to understand.... you bought a product and want to feel good about it. That's great. Nobody said your windows were going to explode. However your responses are blatently ignoring the facts. First of all (just for...

I'm thinking that Pbiancardi didn't get to read my last post before I deleted it. And it's not necessary to repost every quote in it's entirety, we read them and we can scroll up.
