Steve, I'm not sure on fiberglass. We don't use them here often in MN. I would check with the manufacturer. I thought you had vinyl. Sorry about that. I would then have the concrete guys do the labor part to clean them off. It shouldn't be your responsibility to clean them!!

cin, your price looks good no matter what windows you have. If you have bigger windows or a patio door, then it makes it all the better. rsb66, your price is kind of scary. I don't know if they're building a roof on your bay or not? I also don't know the application but it seems a bit high. But then...

Funny thing is FenX. When we were kids we said what we thought most the time anyways. It never bothered us then. Plus I was bigger than most so I could rap lumps on their head if they got pissy! I'm still bigger than most today. You just go to jail for pounding people today. I'll stay home and enjoy...

When it comes to door shopping your OK with the DIY stores. Therma-Tru is probably the best in our area. The only downfall is their door is a couple inches taller than standard. So you usually have to cut the opening taller. This is not fun in any way. Stanley and Jeldwyn are two others stocked arou...

Make them right a new contract or attach a change order. You should receive a discount usually. Triple pane glass is more than double pane glass. Get it in writing, no matter what.

Steve, the best cleaning solution is a flat blade razor knife for the glass. Just lay it flat on the glass and scrape off the old mortar. Be careful not to nick the vinyl. Next go into the wifes kitchen and grap one of those green scouring pads she uses on pots and pans. You can get the one thats al...

Depending on the replacement method let the installer finish the job before lodging any complaint. You can investigate the reasoning in why the windows were ordered wrong and find out why. I would say they would owe you for your time to take another day off work. I personally measure all my windows ...

First of all it's great you've done some homework on windows. Great Job & Welcome! I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself. There are to many things to go wrong. If not done correctly this may jeopardize the warranty. Windows today have made so many advances from your existing windows. There is...

New Construction Installation

Your on the right track!. After you have removed your old window from each opening. Measure the opening to see if your new window will fit. I would recommend at least an inch clearance around each nail fin exposed. Back caulk your nail fin and set the window in the opening. Shim and level the unit t...
