Re: Ply Gem question
a value upgrade? its either quality or its not and quality obviously comes at a higher price and rightly so. what many suggest when a customer has a budget is do your windows in stages rather than buy something percieved to be mediocre.

Re: Casement Windows
unfortunately some homeowners fool themselves into thinking that they enjoy embarking on new do it yourself home improvement projects and there is some sort of personal pride involved. in reaity the pride is based on saving some money. however, most of the time the job is done poorly, looks ridiculous...

I'd have to see the window and play around with it but i like the way it s...

Re: Window World
i give you credit for admitting you made a mistake. most consumers go with the cheaper price and then when the windows leak air they want to blame everyone but themselves. window world is a lower quality window and with windows, when its cheap, its made cheap. no window company can have such an edge ...

Okna will have the better performance numbers. the 800 okna is nicer than a gorell or sunrise in my opinion. i am not a big fan of the sill sunrise uses. that said, all three are solid products.

Re: solar low-e option/softlite ls windows
if its heat mirror then its a film. if its lowE then its a coating(basically various layers of silver)embedded into the glass which is certianly not a film. some lowE's are very tinty such as solarban 70 and to a certain extent lowE 366.
serious windows use heat mirror which i am not a big fan of.
