Re: Gorell 5155 with Eco Master Glass vs Okan 500 DX

bkb, I would put a lot of stock in buddy and anthony's recommedations as it appears as though they are both very close to your area. Not sure if either services your area, but you can find out by clicking the "Get quote" button by their name... You won't find a better guy to do business wi...

Re: Glass system for windows replacement

Sounds like some company trying to convince you that they have some type of "exclusive" magical glass. There is no such thing... From the website it looks like they just put a ton of low-e on it which would be terrible for colder climates as it likely results in a very low shgc... All you ...

Re: Replacement windows Gorell Timeless or Stanek

The Stanek Window has a higher DP Rating of a 70. The Gorell is a 50 The Gorell window does not cover labor or installation in they're warranty. The Stanek window covers labor and installation for as long as you live in your home. The Stanek window is also reinforced better, has cleaner corner weld...

Re: Gorell 5155 with Eco Master Glass vs Okan 500 DX

Thanks for the feedback, however if I understand it correctly, Okan 500 DX has foam filled frame while 5155 is not, should this be a big consideration? Also just want to add that Okna estimate is with top/bottom grids for 8 windows while Gorell is not, Gorell needs another 400$ for grids. Still wan...

Re: PlyGem Replacement Kitchen Window

I guess my understanding in having interior glazing strips compared to exterior is the fact that they weather alot easier outside. Those pieces of vinyl expand and contract and it eventually affects the seal???? I really wouldn't factor that into your decision either way, as they both have pros and...

Re: intecept vs super spacer/ softlite windows

I agree with Eco, Intercept is a proven performer. SS has more upside in terms of ratings, it just has not been around as long. That being said, I have not seen any indication that SS is any less durable.... Either one will be a fine choice imo, but all things being equal, I'd take the SS.

Re: ATLANTA: R-5 triple vs. .30 / .30 double & GORELL v SIMONTON

Gorell makes a really nice window and you can get the same glass packages in either the 5100 or the 5300. The 5300 is a hearty extrusion, but the 5100 with fiberglass reinforcement is pretty nice as well. As for Simonton, they also have some great products, and I'm confident that either choice will ...

Re: Gorell quote

The Gorell 5305 is a nice product, a little bulky on the vinyl IMO but a good solid window. The Harvey Tribute is also a nice window, a little less bulky and a little nicer look to it IMO. i assume you are interested in the triple pane on both of these models. the tribute you can opt for no lift ra...

Re: Replacement windows Gorell Timeless or Stanek

Those are both fairly decent choices. I like the Gorell Timeless a lot, especially if you are looking for a slim frame to maximize glass space. They also have some excellent glass packages and a nice offering of options... The Stanek window is a solid performer as well. Personally, I prefer the idea...

Re: Alside Excalibur Climatech Vinyl Windows Questions HELP!!

Does Alside make a window thats better than the Excalibur? I think my buddy only supplies the Alside brand so I might be ~ out of luck with my overall options. The Sheffield is better than the Excalibur but still not highly regarded... There are many different avenues to purchase windows, I have to...
