I find this very suprising.

We have a 90 lb. dog that claws at the glass on the sliding door when he wants in and is actually scratching the glass. When he clawed an our old door, scratches did not occur. What is going on? Is the tempered glass that is made today softer? Or is it the same but hardens with age as the years go b...

<<I'm sure your response was interesting but unfortunately I didn't get to see it. Was there objectionable content in your post? The admins typically don't remove posts without reason if they have any points of potential value to readers.>> I stated some facts about vinyl that I felt would be helpful.

I posted a reply right under FenEx's last post in this thread, it was there yesterday but is no longer there today. Why?

Guy, I have a question and would like to say something also. The question is, did the Fibrex crack all on it's own after the window was installed and if it did, was it a stress crack like happens to glass sometimes after the window has been installed? Now what I would like to say this. The frame I s...

windowmann, you have completely misunderstood what I said. "Fibrex is not fiberglass, not even close"....I never said it was. I am just saying that window frames made of one of the two materials will most likely not be bowing, cracking, shrinking or sagging, 40, 50, years down the road. Bu...

Randy, you said "All of the homeowners". I am a homeowner and I am just reporting on my first hand experience I am having with these windows. What I am reporting is factual information. The one thing that I DO agree with, is the Renewal windows are not cheap, put I also feel that I did not...

Randy, I would not have made that final payment to them if they leak air. I tested for that before hand.

I am NOT defending my decision; I am merely looking into what's behind some of the comments that I see posted here.

I think it would good for Andersen to offer a fiberglass window also. In the retail business I tried to carry every available choice.

Like the car business, the variety is there the choice one makes is there choice.

<<They are now telling their customers the truth about the RBA product, since they have two years of experience with it. I think we'll be seeing more of this soon.>> What is the truth about the product? Is the Fibrex going to shrink, crack, warp, sag or turn to dust in ten or twenty years?

I actually asked our RBA salesman that ("if vinyl is so bad, A) why isnt everything made out of Fibrex and B) why does Andersen have a stake in the vinyl window business"). All I got was more marketing speak (did you know that Fibrex is so high end they cant make their existing windows out...

FenEx, I could find negative post an many windows and positive post on the same windows. Those negative post can be about the install, the service, the longevity, or the window itself. Now, it is human nature for people come out a post if they are not satisfied with whatever that may be, and the one...

Renewal by Andersen operates differently. When a down payment is given RBL dealer, the money gos in escrow, the dealer does not get any of it. And also, the RBL dealer is responsible for both the window AND installation, so there is no shifting the blame if the customer is not satisfied with somethi...

Re: 69 x 67

I have a Renewal window in which the exposed glass measures 69" wide and 67" high. . . I don't think we're referring to the same thing. Your 69" x 67" was either a fixed unit or a two-wide unit. I think what the original post is referring to is a single unit that actually opens....

I have a Renewal window in which the exposed glass measures 69" wide and 67" high. Two guys carried it in with suction-cups that had handles on them. It took a lot of effort on there part as it is very heavy.
