Re: Do Sunrise NRG IGUs appear visually different from non-NRG?

DFW Gal, wow $59k that is an incredible $38k price difference between the Vanguard and the Restorations! No one offers Vanguard in my market, so it is not an option for me. And there is only one Restorations dealer here. However, they offer Restorations at a very competitive price to other high-end ...

Re: Do Sunrise NRG IGUs appear visually different from non-NRG?

Are the other windows clear glass? If so, yes. You will notice a difference. Where is the home located? Thanks for replying, WoW. No, none of the windows will be clear glass, and this is in the Atlanta, GA metro area. All the windows being discussed have a southeast exposure with full sun for at le...

Do Sunrise NRG IGUs appear visually different from non-NRG?

I have a home office on the front side of my home, which has a walk-in bay window with two 24x74 DH with a 24x10 transom window above each, and one 48x74 picture window with a 48x10 transom above it. All of these will be replaced with Sunrise Restorations. I am planning on going with a double pane I...

Re: Full Frame or Pocket Replacement Here?

I too like the look and QC of the Marvin fiberglass. It is hard to understand their lack of concern for air infiltration. High performance vinyl offers so may great things. I am a full frame fan. We readily do either. The real reason one vs the other is money. I think you can find my comments on th...

Tempered Glass Required for Palladium Window?

I have a 36x72 palladium round top located above my home's entrance. It has a 10x56 sidelite on either side of it. All of this is located above the main entrance to my home, and the bottom edge of the glass is 9 feet above the floor. You can see it from the exterior here http://pc.cd/tpoitalK My und...

Re: Full Frame or Pocket Replacement Here?

Do you live in a very warm state? What state do you even live in ? Georgia, in the summer it definitely gets what I would call "very warm" (being from the Northeast originally). Gets down into the mid to upper 20s in the winter, and consistently in the very high 90s in the shade during th...

Re: Full Frame or Pocket Replacement Here?

Not seeing much there stating that this must be a full frame, especially since these are purportedly the worst ones and the majority are better. Maybe some soft wood on the sill nose, the gap from casing to sill is a slight red flag. Full frames with new interior trim would take care of all of that...

Full Frame or Pocket Replacement Here?

If you wouldn't mind, please take a look at these photos and let me know your opinion as to whether you would recommend a pocket replacement install or a full-frame install (using the Sunrise full frame replacement kit with the factory replacement brickmould) for some 30 year old builder grade singl...

Re: Replacing windows - Now lost

Thanks, I might just go fairly inexpensive from home depot.. I can't see myself spending that much money on doors and install for a house that only cost 300K.. :/ I think HD carries the Maxcraft doors as well. Not sure what other brands they carry. Just be careful of their installers, I have found ...

Thanks for the replies, guys. It turns out the Imperial Elite is indeed a private label manufactured specifically for this dealer.

Re: Replacing windows - Now lost

Provia costs more because they make the best door out of that group. Yes, that's what I have repeatedly heard from other industry veterans as well. I have been quoted a Maxcraft MG3671DD 8/0 mahogany veneer fiberglass double-door with Ice Crystal Bevels and Patina Caming for about $4700 installed (...

Soft-Lite Imperial ELITE?

Does anyone have any experience or know anything about Soft-Lite coming out with a new window offering called the "Imperial Elite"? It has been mentioned to me by only one relatively new Soft-Lite dealer (that does not carry the Elements), they tell me that It is essentially the Imperial L...

Re: Replacing windows - Now lost

Well, can't actually recommend anyone yet, but for doors you might want to check out North Georgia RW, they do Provia, Maxcraft, Thermatru and of course Marvin. Davis does Provia and Marvin. Someone else I've seen is Visionaire, they do Provia and Sierra Pacific. And Pinnacle does Provia. I haven't ...
