Okna make a very good window and their performance numbers exceed those of renewal by andersen. Where you are you located can determine if Okna is a available in your area.

Re: OKNA ECO-PRO 600 Series Bid
Wiggle room ???? That is extremely cheap pricing and the grid price you were given is ridiculous and from the year 2008. Unless you want the company to look more closely at their bid and realize they made a mistake, I would’nt be looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Re: softlite dh imperial ls insert air leaks
No operable window can be 100% air tight, its impossible plus if its too tight , the window would be almost impossible to operate. You have a very good window and you could only imagine how drafty an inferior window would be.

Re: Softlite Pro vs. Okna ECO-PRO
The okna eco-pro 600 is a better window and more comparable to soft lite elements or the elite ls. The eco-pro is a very solid offering with some very nice features. The soft lite pro is ok i guess but its a very old design and not one of soft lite’s top offerings.

Re: Narrowed down to three choices
The contractor, and I use that term loosely, is outright lying when he tells you soft lite and okna are builders grade. I dont believe it is an innocent misunderstanding on his part, he is being very dishonest. Advanced Window are made in Chicago and its not a very good window. A company in PA uses ...

What does the inside look like? Do you have wood trim? Post a picture of the inside.

Re: Vinyl Double Hungs in Ohio for $500 ish??? Screen options? VT and glass surface area... mind numb!
There is absolutely no way you will find a quality window for anywhere near $500 per window. That is terribly unrealistic and you are setting yourself up for grave disappointment. The kicker is you have old metal windows with plaster, have fun with that.

Re: Leak in window
I don’t think there is a drip cap just the window. I will do the hose test, that’s all good info. I was told no flashing was used just screws and sealant around replacement window.. Thank you You wouldnt use flashing tape with a replacement window install. It would only be used with a new construct...

Re: Leak in window
I am in full agreement with WOW. Leaks are usually from the siding, trim, or roof and rarely from the actual window.Windows on Washington wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 2:28 pm Can you upload a picture? Leaks from the window head are usually siding, trim, or roofing issues.

Re: Okna bow window install
It appears you are over reacting a bit regarding the install. You may want to think about letting the installer do his thing and refrain from taking pictures and hovering over him while he is installing. That is a huge distraction and to be honest, I would not permit that as it could also be dangero...

Re: Window replacement
You don’t need new construction from what I can see. I think a good replacement window would be fine. What the one company said about “ the windows being joined together” and therefore not able to be replacement is complete nonsense and almost laughable.
