Re: Help needed on Polybau windows asap!!

You have alot to reflect on based on the post here.
I might consider putting a hold on the job till all items are resolved. Unfortunately I think you would be better to cancel the order, in writing, fax and phone. A hold can be confusing and i do not know the legal value, but a cancel is clear.

Re: Need help with windows on the West Coast

It seems to me that there is a lack of pros out west.
Perhaps that is because the east has a lot older housing stock and more experience with the replacement needs of our areas.
We are opening a branch in Dallas, TX. Would the Bay area be a location too?

Re: Window A/C Air Conditioner install for fiberglass window

You can put it through brick, you might not want to but it is doable. The reason to screw the window into the sash and the sash into the frame is for support of the AC and security of the building. You can make stoppes for the upper and lower sash to keep the sash in place and secure the AC in the s...

Not an unusable pattern in my neck of the woods, historic greater Phlly.
Also Queen Anne pattern is often top sash only.

Instead of putting holes in the window. Punch the AC through the wall

Re: 1920 Remodel - Looking for quality replacement window

When we do replacement on historical homes we tend to use Pella, Marvin, or Andersen insert windows. The clad wood windows with SDL pass the visual test of most historical ~.

Vinyl, a good quality will be great for you.
See if you can find someone here on the forum that can do a quote for you.
Look for Simonton, Okna, Soft-lite windows.

Re: window for inside a shower/bath

You can do a Pella Impervia slider with tempered glass.
You will have to film from the point down that you want privacy, see car tiniting companies.

Re: Renewal by Anderson

IMO the RBA is over priced and AW has diluted its reputation by the over branding.
I do like that they do not close the majority of their leads and set a high price point for the rest of the pros.

You could tell the dealer that showed you the gold model that you want a quote on Platinum.
If it is within your budget then ask to see a sample.
Or use the dealer locater as mentioned.

Well that figures TOH would have better equipment on the show, they are not to shabby.
I have seen dual pane puttied in to egg crates and last 20- 30 years. They are a pia to extract.

Re: Replacing panes in old windows with double pane low e

rmit, The units would have a warranty against seal failure. Of more conern to me is that you are going to try and just caulk them in. Most all mfg have a stop to hold the glass in place, even old putty glazed single panes have glazing points. Yuo must make sure that the IG unit is compatible with an...

which prism model diid you see.
I do not remember which is equal but you need to be at the reflection 5500 series level at least then get a comparable glazing package.
