The above response is spot on. Anytime you do less than 5 windows, you will definitely be paying a premium for that.
Many companies won't even do a job that's less than 5 windows.

Re: Okna 1800 worth double Provia Endure with Triple-pane?
A few questions:
1) are the windows all white?
2) are there grids?
3) what state are you in since pricing can sometimes be regional.

Re: Concerned on this install - looking for advice/input
Looks fine to me. Are you looking for a reason not to
pay your contractor?
Every install can always be a little better and can always be open for debate based on various preferences of install.
Your looks fine. Asking us to rate it from 1-10 is ridiculous although I would call it an 8.

ResourceFul
Where are you located, that could have an impact on price as well. For example, Maryland and PA may be more expensive than Idaho.
That being said, I prefer the Okna Window.

Re: Performance Ratings vs "Features"
“ For example, one window model has more features like foam in the frame, a fiberglass sash reinforcement rather than metal, and 3 points of weather-stripping instead of 2 points. Are those upgraded features basically meaningless if the performance rating numbers are almost identical?” Those feature...

Unless you want to deal with wood rot again, you may want to consider a high end vinyl offering.

Re: Okna 600 vs Alside Mezzo vs Interstate 6800
I have to agree with the above response. The Okna 600 is far better than any alside product including mezzo. The Okna 600 is a top tier window.

Re: Okna Windows - Chimney Block / Draft Pads
Go with the Okna 500 or 600. Both are well above the barrington and 5050. The barrington is soft lite’s budget window and the simonton 5050 is not worth considering at all in my opinion. Simonton is a very outdated window and lacks performance. The 5050 is also simonton’s lower end. Most companies p...

Agree with the above response. The cost of doing business can definitely be much higher in certain area’s. It costs much more to run a business in Washington Dc than it does in Little Rock Arkansas.
The Okna 600 is a Much better window than both the ideal and united.

I think the sunrise is a better offering than the provia. I do agree that pella should be crossed off the list. Are you located in PA? What state?

Re: Expectation vs. Reality
Its possible the sound is coming through the walls. Also, sound reduction can be very subjective to where one person notices a difference and the other person doesnt.
If they definitely used sunrise’ noise reduction glass, its not the windows.

My understanding is that Seaway make a good window. I have seen their upper end line and its very well designed.
