Re: Cheap wood windows

I would look at AW or Pella Proline. Also see if someone has any misc stock(misordered) units.

Re: Replacement Windows in Dallas--advice sought

In your area you should do solar glass if it was not bid in your package originally.
In my 30 years installing the Soft-lite Imp. LS is the best I have seen, The Barrington is also nice.

Re: Replacement Windows in Dallas--advice sought

In DFW we use 3 different Soft-lite models.
One is available in single hung, it is not the most exspensive model, Barrington.
In our PA division I almost exclusively sell the Imperial LS.

Re: Replacement Windows in Dallas

I have never sold or installed a single hung. They were a new construction product to save cost.
The LS is a signifacantly better window but more $.

Re: Replacement Windows in Dallas

I am not experienced with NT. Randy in Houston use them as a cheaper product.
Soft-lite does have single hungs with color option, ETC, but not the LS(single hung).

Re: Garden Window

If you are commited to foam a pro gun would be great. I would not want a novice using a straw for the first time on my house, lack of control.
The guns used by great stuff suppliers "14" < $60.

My sugestion is to first look at Soft-lite Imperial LS, secondly Simonton Decorum, or OKNA.

Re: Garden Window

I use OSI,Hilti , or Great Stuff. The difficulty with a HO doing it is that the pro gun is exspensive to purchase for a one time use. I have only used foam for about 4 years, but have not seen any sign of break down except with latex based foam. I do think closed cell is better than open cell. I hav...

Re: Feedback needed(w/pics)

Well your photos are very good. Andersen casements are Permashield, what you show is not, the hardware is wrong for it to be andersen.
What color exterior? INterior? Casement? Insert or full tear out/new construction.

Re: Feedback needed(w/pics)

They are not Andersen, so be careful of who you libel.
You have not mention your goal or general specs for the new product: colors, finishs, grids, etc.

I do not understand Homeseled comment about Barrington pricing unless he knows the dealer personally.
You will have to contact the locals and get actual $.

Depending on size, options and few other variables the two I mentioned should be within budget.
Your budget is reasonable.

Re: Some recommendations please, I'm lost

You have not given us enough specs fpr us to help with budget. Color? Style? Options? Sizes?
I would look at simonton 5050, or soft-lite barrington.
Budget $350 to 700 per window(with out the specs, the best I acn do).
