$30 to $100 a window is what the owner of the crew gets paid for his services. Out of that pay, he must pay his guys, dump/disposal fees, liability insurance, workmens compensation for each employee, commercial insurance sometimes for the bigger trucks, health insurance if he is not on his spouses p...

I have 2 different installers that have installed plenty of Paradigm windows. They both speak very highly of the window and the company. They love how easy the window is to install and to operate. If there are any problems the company will bend over backwards to make things right. I frequently stop ...

WW in my area seems to be doing quite well. I took the day off yesterday and took the family to the Jersey shore. I saw on a major hwy a nice new giantic WW billboard and a brand new WW work truck with all of the bells and whistles. Perhaps he is getting more like $450 - $500 a window????????????????

We have a WW right in the next county. Many times I'll go out to see some folks that have had them out for an estimate. What I've found is that people simply remember one thing. PRICE!!!!!!!!! Just the other day I spent some time with a couple who had WW give them a verbal quote of $200 a window and...

When you look at a Schuco installed it really looks totally differenty than almost all of the vinyl windows on the market. Part of it is the linen white vinyl color, provided that you are looking at white windows. Their mortised steel lift handles have a clean and beautiful look as opposed to extrud...

The Imperial LS doesn't have any type of shadow grooves as far as the welds. The state of the art robotics at Soft-Lite do a very nice job of cleaning up the corners on this window. If you compare this window to all of the Great Lakes, Gorells, and other so called high-end vinyl windows out there I ...

Sunrise has redesigned the liftrail with a bump that is supposed to act like a barb cathing into a groove. This combined with extra silicone is supposed to prevent the liftrail from ever coming out. I've not had one come out lately. However, there is still some flex in them. I would be more concerne...

On those outside/in type of installations I think Window4u has it really down to a science. Pack in some fiberglass as a backer rod, and then run the bead of foam to the edge as a secondary water barrier in addition to it's insulation properties. This makes the removal of the window if there is a in...

I could be very wrong, but those windows could be the new construction junk that is infesting my area. This would account for the caulk seperating so badly as the house is settling. Around here all of the builders are using either Patriot, Capital, Silverline, or Slocomb. Most are single hung, and t...

Windowmannynj please don't take offense to what I mentioned. I have just as much respect for those who that have great people and sales skills as I have for those who are great installers. I think all of us like nice things and when we work hard for something and have something like a new car or exc...

windowmannjny, Jim sounds like he doesnt' want to hear bragging from a window salesman that reminds me of Alec Baldwin's character in that real estate scam movie Glen Gary, Glen Ross. I know a few local sales guys that are making well over $100k a year not getting their hands dirty. Late nights in t...

Window Wizards subs out most of their vinyl work. Their very best vinyl window right now is from Accu-Weld, need I say anymore. I believe they have some even worse junk from Superseal and maybe Silverline? For others on this board that have never heard of them, they serve PA, NJ, and DE. Their TV sp...
