Re: Input wanted on proposed fix for improperly installed windows

You seem like a very nice guy and I understand the frustration. I give the company credit for trying to resolve the issue. It's hard to tell what or why you are getting water.
Did a different company install that siding ?

Re: Input wanted on proposed fix for improperly installed windows

Just an fyi. A majority of the time , a company that uses subs will provide better installations. Most often subs will demand a higher wage based on their proficiency and freedom to work for a few higher paying window companies opposed to being tied down to just one that may experience slow patches ...

Re: Input wanted on proposed fix for improperly installed windows

Installing from the outside is actually very common. The exterior trim looks to have water damage but that may or may not be the fault of the installer if aluminum capping wasnt included in the contract.

Re: Window Replacement Advice: Vytex, Sunrise, Pella, SoftLite

We use both vytex and sunrise ( vanguard) but have been installing more vytex lately. We really like the vytex but certainly will use sunrise with no hesitation. The soft lite you have been quoted is their “ average” series. We prefer their elements or ls elite. I would put Pella at the bottom of yo...

I don't believe anyone here is a fan of pella windows. Certain brands that we like could be regional. Where are you located?

Re: United 200 series comparable to OKNA 500 or 800 series

The United 200 is not a true composite and its not well designed. The Okna 500 is a much better product. You will not lose a lot of glass with replacement and you definitely want LowE. Ive seen the Okna product’s lowE glass quite a few times and its not dark or blue. What was the price difference be...

Re: Indianapolis - Central Indiana companies

I would never dismiss a company just because they use " subs" as most do. With that being said, some of the best installers will only work as subs due to the flexibility that designation affords them. I work with a decent sized company and all of our crews are subs but basically only work ...

Re: Medford, NJ Master bedroom window replacement

The above response is spot on. Anytime you do less than 5 windows, you will definitely be paying a premium for that.
Many companies won't even do a job that's less than 5 windows.

Re: Okna 1800 worth double Provia Endure with Triple-pane?

A few questions:
1) are the windows all white?
2) are there grids?
3) what state are you in since pricing can sometimes be regional.

Re: Concerned on this install - looking for advice/input

Looks fine to me. Are you looking for a reason not to
pay your contractor?
Every install can always be a little better and can always be open for debate based on various preferences of install.
Your looks fine. Asking us to rate it from 1-10 is ridiculous although I would call it an 8.

ResourceFul
Where are you located, that could have an impact on price as well. For example, Maryland and PA may be more expensive than Idaho.
That being said, I prefer the Okna Window.
