Re: Reply

American Craftsman/ Silverline are absolutely bottom end products. Sorry. Was my previous statement not clear? Ok... they are at the bottom of the bottom end products. Or, you could consider them beneath the bottom of the low-end mid grade products. If you still want to know if this puts them in th...

AV The pin filling system that makes that hole is being replaced by vacuum chamber gas insertion by the best perfomers. This photo is of Edgetech's Super Spacer which relies on it's secondary butyl seal that is outside of the spacer itself. The photo you see it enlarged and the hole you see is actua...

At the $316 per window that you had to fight for... you purchased a $316 window with install. Meaning... you purchased a low-end pressured contract. This is one of the bottom-end products and dealer orgs out there.... and you should expect the same of the products, as well as their services. Quite f...

Looks like the question was already answered. As long as the original pane of glass is flat around the edges (no caming), it could be made into an IGU. The problem is, as the original is very old and would not be replaceable if broken, and manufacturer faces the handling liability and a custom setup...

You are a nut... and getting exactly what you paid for from a low-end outfit like WW. You don't have a leg to stand on within those tolerances. Even the ones that were properly sized will perform in accordance with their value that you paid for. You buy crap... you get crap... and now you want Gold ...

Waterguy The product you purchased probably cost the dealer about $90 bucks, and they pay their installers about $65 a hole. Do you truly believe that your watching the installation will give you energy savings or your desired result? I inspect homes on a daily basis with these products installed an...

The window manufacturer's responsibility is to provide a tight sealing window with low tolerances. It appears they succeeded. Unless you went with a custom color instead of white, I would have recommended a vinyl unit that doesn't require maintenence. If you think they stick now, just wait untill ad...

"It seems that when the window is open it would be easy to pull the top down and climb into the house." If the window is open, why would they pull down the top sash and climb over when they can just crawl through the open bottom? Do you see a screen as being a deterent? I'm thinkin' this ...

Datawiz Jscott was correct with his terminology. Unless you are building a new house, it's a full replacement if you are tearing out the old jambs. "New Construction" windows are only in "New Construction" and refer to stock sizes with nailing fins. Any pre-existing window being ...

WASHINGTON, DC -- NLBMDA's top legislative priority, the Innocent Sellers Fairness Act, was reintroduced in the 110th Congress by Representatives Dan Boren (D-OK) and Steve Chabot (R-OH) on February 12, 2007. This critical legislation provides that (1) sellers do not take on liability for a product ...
