That is horrible. I am sorry for your poor experience. At times, one of the executives with Polybau reviews this site. I hope she sees your expereince with that window vendor. I company I like and I know sells Polybau windows is Quality WIndow and Door in Pleasanton. The executives from Polybau's hu...

I am sorry to hear you are not getting the service you want. I believe Polybau windows say Polybau on the locks. They also have a somewhat unique spacer in between that glass that looks like a solid foam instaed of metal. Who is the guy you had out last and what area of California are you lacated in...

I do not think that either option is a bad one. The companies that make fiberglass also make vinyl in a lot of cases. VInyl is cheaper and have less color options. It is less rigid. Vinyl is cheaper and is cheaper, and did I say that vinyl is cheaper?

They are one of the best in San Jose area and have been around for years. Say hi to Vicki. They do a large volume of Milgard, Jeld-Wen and Amsco windows there. Good choice. Very good choice.

I think the Jeld-Wen warranty is the best in the wood business with their new wood treatment. The labor side is always nice to have. The glass is a cardinal XL edge IG unit. Same as Anderson, Marvin etc. I personally like Jeld-Wen as well, they have always done will by me. What line is your contract...

I am in Northern California as well and have a good feel of the quality comeing out of the diefferent plants in the area. I would take the Milgard window out here for service and quality. The design of the Simonton is a bit nicer, but consistant quality and follow up if there is an issue historicall...

A good milgard price would be about 2600. A good Simonton would be about the same. Anything above that will be more profit for the dealers, above what a high volume dealer would be. I would expect to pay about 3K for the windows, this is without grid and no frills. Hope this helps.

There are industry standards for glass defect in a residential windows. There are also many different grades of glass. That being said, your windows should be free of debris and damage. If there is something between the glass, it is a manufacturing defect and should be covered under any manufacturer...

Home depot is a retail outlet, like any other, they just have buying power. I would disagree with the House Doctor. Large manufactures sell through Home Depot, but so do smaller ones, they just are not stocked on the shelf. On the West Coast, the Jeld-Wen vinyl, Simonton, Milgard, International, The...

The Pella Impervia was designed to sway folks from vinyl and is a basically uninspiring product. Marvin is asethically pleasing with 110% customer satisfaction in our area. By the way the exterior SDL is not fiberglass like, it is pultruded fiberglass. The SDL is 7/8" in width and profiled to ...

Milgard would be at the top of this list, them International, and lastly Atrium in my opinion. Interational is a smaller company with three plant in the Southwest. (Hate their autolock). Milgard always has a customer service nightmare every summer. I beleive your contractor. Amerimax is a decent win...

The Amsco window is an excellent window. They are well made with good service. They are built in SLC and are family owned. They have recently expanded their sales into California and are doing well here. I do not think you can go wrong with either choice based on quality and design. My vote between ...

In Portland you are only minutes from the Jeld-Wen Premium window plant. I would look at the Jeld-Wen wood line there. Options are just about limitless.
