Tell us a little more about the home and we can make some more recommendations as to what ...

Pretty good product.
I would first start with what you need the windows to do, what materials are preferred, and narrow the search from there.

Hi Pizza Fanatic (Love That) That house has waited 40 years for new windows, it won't hurt to take a month or two for you to get quotes and do some research so you can take care of you. The fella you had out will be just as happy to sell you his windows in 4-6 weeks as he is to sell them to you now...

This question is very easy...that is too much money for any Alside window.
Buddy is correct in that they were misleading you from the start with their claims anyway. $80 for grids is too expensive as well.

Re: Structural performance: Simonton, Gorell, Soft-Lite
Performance is performance.
Equal thermal performance between the two window, the one with the lower air leakage rate will be more efficient. It also speaks to the broader point of attention to detail and build quality.

Re: Structural performance: Simonton, Gorell, Soft-Lite
WoW cites .08 air infiltration for the Simonton 9800 double-hung in the other discussion board: soft-lite or simonton? Perhaps this was for a different window in the line. In my quote, I found the [AAMA?] report number--60504.02--which matches the Simonton structural data : 36 x 72 0.16 scfm/ft² 28...

It is too bad that you could not have included Okna in that run down. I think it gives the Restorations a run for its money. I like the Sunrise window a lot too.
