be careful

I know you're new to the site engine32, but don't start putting down vinyl or you'll start a whole new firestorm like the one on Pella windows.

Pella

I was being facetious about the cladding being "not much thicker than a coke can". However, my point was simply this; Pella uses an inferior, roll-formed aluminum cladding on their sashes and door panels. Yes I know that they use extruded aluminum on the frames. As I have said in the past,...

apology

I will be anxiously awaiting your apology and your correction Guy. That is, if you're man enough to admit when you are wrong.

Pella defender

You obviously don't know what you are talking about. 1) Pella does offer an OPTIONAL kynar paint finish, but so does Eagle 2) Pella's sashes are clad in roll-form aluminum that is not much thicker than a coke can, while Eagle uses extruded aluminum on both the sashes and the frames Care to challenge...

Pella is way overrated

Why don't you past the past posting where you "proved I was a liar". Since it didn't happen, why don't you scurry back under the refrigerator, like the cockroach that you are.

See if you have and Eagle dealer in your area. They make a really nice window - comparable with the Marvin look and build, much better than Pella. Pella's aluminum cladding is very thin and easily damaged.

Good luck

Marvin vs. Renewal

If it was my money and my home, I would go with the Marvin Ultimate windows. The Renewal windows have too many issues being worked through, and they have not been on the market long enough to prove themselves. You might also want to take a look at this site before making your decision. http://my.exe...

new dealer

If you choose a good product, and ensure proper installation, the chances of needing the dealer again are practically nil.

You do not want to accept a no-name brand window from a new dealer. Nor do you want to blindly accept his/her installation method.

Hope this helps.

Milgard veneer

It is real douglas fir, peeled to 1/32" and glued to the fiberglass. Yes it is a veneer, however, not in the typical sense. I have already mentioned the things to be concerned about. Trust me, this is not one of them. Milgard puts the veneered fiberglass through far more extensive testing than ...

Milgard windows

The rollers are covered under the Milgard warranty. The great thing about Milgard is the warranty which covers everything except for glass breakage, for as long as you own the home - labor and materials included. As to the pine interior on the Marvin, if you get a good painter to stain the interiors...

Marvin vs. Milgard

As a Milgard dealer. it pains me to say this. Since the pricing is very similar, go with the Marvins. Milgard has decided to use a roller on their sliders which is cheap and difficult to slide. I don't understand why they don't use a better roller system, but it is lousy. They also use a metal inser...

Pella

Pella has it's positives, such as the casement handles, screen systems and they pioneered the blinds in the glass. I am not a Pella basher, (I'm an Andersen Renewal/Joe C. basher), I just feel that there are better choices for most homeowners. For my money, Marvin makes the very best wood window ava...

Milgard

You should have no problem getting the items on your list, as long as you are willing to wait for them, which you stated you are. As I posted before, you should expect to wait approximately 8 weeks. You will enjoy the Milgard doors and casement window very much. As to the french door, my Milgard pri...

Pella

Let me get this straight. You call my argument weak, and then when I call you on the points you make, I am the one being "uncivil". Nice. Yes I have seen the problems I described with Pella windows. No I do not believe they will be going out of business. I just believe there are much bette...
