Alside Mezzo vs. Simonto Pro

#1 Post by nexusdoan »

Hi Everyone -

I live in Austin, TX and would like to replace the 15 windows in my house which are the original windows.

I got multiple quotes from different companies:

1) Alside Mezzo: $8,800
2) Simonton Reflections 5500: $13,500
3) Simonton Pro Series: $12,200
4) Vistamark Endura: $11,868
5) Andersen 100 Fibrex Series: $13,500

I like the looks of the Alside Mezzo and the price is good but I read about potential warranty headaches with Alside in the past on some earlier product lines.

The Simonton Reflections 5500 looks dated in it's design and it's bulky so not a fan. Solid window but don't like the looks with extrusions outside either.

Can't find anything on the Vistamark.

Read mixed reviews on the Andersen 100 as well.

I plan to live in this house for less than 10 years.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

I'd throw out those options and keep looking. If you are going to sell in 10 years, most of that list will be due for replacement around that time. Up your budget and you can get a window that will still look and perform like its new in year 10.

NT’s Energy Master or Presidential lines would be decent options to consider.
