Vinyl vs Aluminum
Vinyl vs Aluminum
I plan to stay where I'm at for awhile and really don't see selling anytime soon. That said, I really want a window that's going to hold up for many years and look good. My assumption is that metal is a better material in this regard over plastic. I should also mention that I live in Texas where it can get pretty hot in the summer. Does a quality aluminum window such as Don Young make sense for my case? Or would a mid-grade vinyl window such as NT suffice?
Re: Vinyl vs Aluminum
A good thermally-broken aluminum window will hold up better than vinyl, long-term. They will also provide you with narrower frames and maximum glass space. The downsides are higher U-Values and cost.
Re: Vinyl vs Aluminum
Good to know. I like the thinner frames much more than the look of chunky vinyl. Getting a couple quotes this next week for the thermally-broken Don Young so will see how it goes. Thanks
