Seeking wood look but modern performance

#1 Post by cjny »

Three windows on my 20 year old house need to be replaced. Two are double hung, one casement. The DH windows need a stain-able interior to match the existing decor. The casement can be white interior so I was thinking high quality vinyl for that. It looks like Marvin Infinity and Okna Starmark are possibilities for the DH's. Are there other similar performance windows that can be stained to match that I should be considering?

I'd like to get both types from the same source, if that matters.

Thanks!

Carl

Inline's Eternity fiberglass window is available with a stainable interior, and it outperforms Marvin's Infinity hands down.

All three are pretty good choices (Infinity, Starmark, Inline).

The efficiency nod would go to the Starmark in this case but the numbers are all 0.30 or less.

What dealer were you most comfortable with?

Our Marvin dealer also reps Inline, but he tells me the Infinity is no longer available for residential use, at this dealer anyway. He is offering the wooden Ultimate as an alternative.

I meet with the Starmark guy in a few days. They have cheesy TV ads, but we'll see what they are like in person.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I'm on the right track.

I hope that your Marvin dealer meant that it is no longer available for residential use from his shop and not globally.

Infinity changed up their dealer network a little while ago but it is most certainly available for residential use.

According to Marvin HQ, Infinity is no longer available in my area.

Their wood window looks very nice, though. Not sure how it stacks up against the others spec-wise.

Where is buddy?

He used to sell a good bit of the Infinity out of Warpinger Falls, NY.
