I live in NE ohio and am looking to replace 10 windows. The house was built in 78 and the current windows are in poor shape. One window is in the bathroom so must be tempered. I received a quote from window nation (high pressure tactics) for 10
fortis double hung triple pane Lowe r/argon glass for 6000. The u factor is .22, shgc .28 and air leakage minimal. They do rate well for installations but I am Leary of the sales tactics. Does this deal sound good or should I concur looking around. My home is valued at 175k so I didn't want to under or over value my windows.

Re: Window purchase help?
Are they wood outs?
Grids?
The numbers are aggressive for a triple pane window and I don't much care for a triple pane window that is in the 0.22 range when they should be about 10% better with triple pane to be a really solid performer.
The number is aggressive but if you aren't comfortable, you aren't comfortable. Simple as that.

These are vinyl, no grids and I apologize I posted the numbers for the double pane, not triple.

Re: Window purchase help?
The number goes from aggressive for triple pane to average with double pane. Decent deal... Like I mentioned on the sister site, the most important factor to me here is that you are not feeling entirely comfortable with the choice. That uneasiness that you feel now will only lead to real problems down the road when you are left wondering if they really did a good job. Do yourself and the dealer a favor and take a little more time to make your choice. Perhaps that will lead you to a different choice or right back to this one, but either way it is very important that you feel good about your investment.

sales is part of the deal/experience.
If you do not like the sales methods then find a different dealer.
I believe the way that the sales are done relates to everything else in the experience.
Higher pressure sales tends to mean higher prices for what you get and not that good of an install, IMO.

I agree with HomeSealed.
That number went from aggressive to middle of pack.
What are the thermal numbers on that double pane window?

I understand with your home value that you have to be mindful of spending the right amount.
For 10 windows with standard wood sash out, vinyl window with insert install, $6000 should be able to buy a very good window, and is a reasonable budget.
I do not think you have found the right product yet, nor the right installer.
