In comparing Milgard standard aluminum sliders, I see this on their site:
When Glass 1 is 0.125 and Glass 2 is 0.25, the STC is 30.
But when Glass 1 is 0.1875 and Glass 2 is 0.125, the STC is 31. And it costs a lot less.
It seems to me that the second one is thinner, yet the STC is higher.
What am I missing?
And if the STC of the Milgard aluminum casement 1/4 over 7/32 lami is 36,
is there a way to know what the STC of their 3/16 over 7/32 lami would be (it's unrated)?
Thank you again!

Re: Questions about Milgard STCs
Tough to say. STC is a very finicky type calculation.
You can "sort of" extrapolate based on data projections, but the more likely conclusion is the ones that they have testing on...were the best they could do.
