Out of Square

#1 Post by enjoyinglife »

I'm measuring for replacement windows and have two that are significantly out of square. Are these “square enough” to order inserts or do I need to do a full frame replacement? If I can do an insert what size do you recommend?

Thanks!!

Height 53.3125 53.3125
Width 27.875 27.875

Diagonal Long 59.5 59.5
Diagonal Short 59 59.125

Long Squared 3540.25 3540.25
short Squared 3481.00 3495.77

Difference -59.25 -44.48

I normally measure tight in the width less 1/8 or 1/4 depending on the application. exact in the height less 1/4".
That should give you enough to square up the insert in the opening.

What he said. You take the smallest of the widths and the heights and deduct 1/8" on all 4 sides.
