I am trying to determine the brand of windows I have in a house I recently purchased. They do not tilt in and are wood with vinyl sides. The side springs are not connected to the bottom of the windows and they will not stay up. I am trying to fix them but I am not sure how to get to sides in order to access springs.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Window will not stay up. What is the Brand?

Looks like every wood window out there with a compression jamb.
But either way, you need a sash removal tool or you may be able to do this if it is a Jeld-Wen or similar:

asd1111, If you can't get them out as in the video, have you tried pulling the sash real hard to the side? Many times a window sash like this is what's called a side load. If it doesn't come out pulling it one direction, try pulling it to the other direction.

You can also look for the brand name on the window, which sometimes is located in one of several places.
1. On the glass - Sometimes the manufacturer's name is etched in the corner of the glass, either the full name or an abbreviation
2. On the sash lock or on the sash lift
3. On the spacer between the glass
4. On the edge of the screen
You probably have a block and tackle balance system behind the vinyl tracks. Sometimes your problem can be fixed without replacing any parts - it could be simply that somebody took out the sashes at some point and when they put them back in they didn't put them back into the guides. Whatever the balance system is, you should be able to order replacement parts.
Best of luck on discovering the manufacturer!
