Replacement Window in Atlanta

#1 Post by RockCapri »

Hi,
I live in Atlanta area and shopping for vinyl replacement window and got an estimate from 3 different companies. I Want to replace:
29 Double Hung
2 Picture with Tempered Glass
1 Half Round with Leg (Above Front Door) 1 Half Round
3 Palladium (Sun Room)

Company A - Alside Mezzo - $34,000
Company B - Alside Mezzo - $18,000
Company C - Simenton Asure - 17,880

I'm confused here, how come one quoting $34k and the other $18k to replace with the same brand window? Also, I'm not sure between Alside and Simenton which one is better or should I consider any other window?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Different business models, overhead, service after the fact, cost of doing business, etc.

That said, I would take either of the offerings from Contractor A or B.

Are you suggesting that Alside Mezzo is better than Simonton? Please clarify.
Thanks

BTW, I'm also considering Simonton 5300 or 5500 and trying to get a quote.

Not really sure about the Simonton Asure (sp?), but the 5300 and 5500 are solid products.

The difference can also be scope of work. You need to make sure they are quoting the same product, options and scope of work.

I would not put any of those windows in my home if I had a better choice.
What are better choices you ask. Okna, Vytex, Sunrise to name three.
