We also have one more company coming out tomorrow. They use the Okna brand of window. How does the 600 or 800 line compare to the Potomac HP? Thanks once again for you help on this!

I like both the 600 and 800 better than the HP.

What makes you like them better? Better performance, nicer look, better frame, warranty?

My lead mechanics like the 800 better than the HP.
Why, it is a better window and more installer friendly.

Thy would, but they are really stuck on the 800, for good reason. If you are doing the flanged install then the 6600 or 5500.
The owners of Okna are building small subdivisions locally. They are using the 6600.

Okay, met with our last dealer (Window Universe here in NE Ohio) with very high marks on Angie’s List. No crazy sales tactics just filled out what windows we needed on a price sheet and that was it. What a breath of fresh air! We asked a lot of questions and he answered all of them. Going with the Okna 600 series. From what I have read on this forum it’s a good window. Part of the reason we are replacing our windows (outside of many failed seals) is that I want to replace my old oak trim/casings. They offer a full frame replacement which means pulling the old casings off and removing the original frames. From what I understand this will get me a slightly larger window/glass than just replacing what is there. Otherwise they would just replace the windows without removing the casings. They are asking $150 per window. I am thinking about adding that but wanted to run it by you guys first.

$150 upcharge is very good pricing.

That's an understatement

Good window choice though overall.
