So I have several quotes for both the NT Twinsulator and the DY 8200 Aluminum Single Hung windows. The two best quotes are pretty close thought the NT one is a little higher when comparing apples to apples. I've been able to see the DY window but still not the NT one as the local dealer says he hasn't sold many and doesn't push them. The DY dealer says the 8200 is mostly what he sells and he installed them on his home.
How would the sages here compare the two windows with costs being approximately equal?

Re: NT Twinsulator vs DY 8200
I’m a big fan of thermally-broken aluminum windows. Both NT and Don Young are good companies to do business with. Both use Cardinal’s Low-E366 as their standard glass. Personally, I prefer the aesthetics of the Don Young 8200 to the Twinsulator, primarily because of the latching system that NT uses. That’s just personal preference though, and either product will serve you well.
Re: NT Twinsulator vs DY 8200
We are going to do the Low-e 270 glass as that has higher VT and is negligible on SGHI and U-Factor for our purposes. It is an upgraded price to get it but worth it for us.

@biggdan, can you please share more information about the project, which window did you choose and quotes? Thank you.
Re: NT Twinsulator vs DY 8200
I’ve sold both and prefer the Don Young for several reasons.
1. Don Young has always provided great service for me.
2. Don Young’s frame seems a bit stronger.
3. The sash latching system on NT is an eyesore.

Thank you Randy, I checked with the installers and I am told permit will not be approved.
