So many choices in DFW
Hello fellow board members,
I have 33 windows I’m replacing. West facing house.
Most of the windows are standard 24/36 inch width and 120/108/96/84/72 height.
Couple of sidelights around the door and an arch above the door but everything else is rectangular.
I’ve been quoted by the following:
RBA 80k (Ha! My wife pretty much escorted them out of the house)
Brennon Signature 24k, Traditions 26k
Clarity Del-Mar 24k, DM-Therma Coat 30k
Conservation Construction of TX 14k
Thermal Windows DFW 24k
After a lot of reading on this board pricing looks pretty solid in the 20-30k range for whatever I get.
Question is does anyone know a Sunrise Dealer in the DFW area, because they seem to be a very good window.
And does anyone know anything about Brennan or Thermal Windows DFW.
Both of their sales people were stupid nice, not pushy at all and super helpful answering a ton of my questions.
TIA for the assistance.

That’s such a classic scene.

We have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves or to Not be Offended. Scary times indeed.
I am sure Randy will be along shortly. He is s busy bee.

Of course I would avoid RBA, and I’m not a fan of Thermal Windows or Conservation Construction either either. I’ve heard good things about Brennon’s, although I can’t vouch for them personally. I know nothing about Clarity, other than they advertise on the radio in the DFW market like crazy.
Sunrise does have a dealer in DFW, but I’m not sure who it is. Perhaps Long’s Windows?

Thanks Randy, and yes Long's Windows does carry the Sunrise brand, just confirmed.
I'll be contacting them to see if I can get them out and compare them to the Brennan window and go from there.
Thanks for the assistance.

Sure thing, wish I could offer more. I just haven’t done much research into what window Brennon’s and Clarity are rebranding. Best wishes with the project.

Bad news, Sunrise only goes up to 96 inches in height, I have a couple of windows that are 108 and above so that kills off sunrise for me. They do have quite a nice window though.
Any feedback on the AWS V-85, looks like they make a unit that goes up to 108.

Yeah, that’s a really large window. After reviewing the website and info provided, it’s looks like an average window. The Structural and Thermal Performance doesn’t provide much info. For instance, under U-Factor/Air, it only lists the U-Factor. You might ask them what the Air Leakage rating is. If it’s above .10, it would be a no for me. Under .05 is my recommendation, but with windows as large as you’ve got, you’ll be hard pressed to find anything, so .10 is more reasonable I suppose.

Clarity uses Anlin Windows. The Del Mar is a premium upgrade to the standard Anlin Catalina window which has good ratings. I think only high volume "Gold Star" dealers have access to the Del Mar series.
Hope that helps.
