Window quote check

#1 Post by janitor53 »

Hello - tons of great info on this forum, wanted to thank everyone as I've been reading for years. Was wondering if someone could check the sanity on my quote. I'm in the Chicago-land area and these are second story full tear outs from the Starmark brand.
1 casement 33x45
1 triple casement 93x51 (casement on each side, picture window in the middle)
1 twin casement 57x45
1 casement 33x45

Quote: $13,286

At almost 3,500 an opening average that seems a bit high, but it's been a couple of years since I've had windows quoted. Any insight? Thanks.

We, in our calculations, would view that as 7 openings, just as a point of comparison.

That is not a cheap window, but it should be compared to other composite products for pricing evaluation purposes.

Okay, so if that's 7 openings I would have expected to maybe pay in the neighborhood of $1,000 an opening. Is that somewhat in line with what somebody should expect?
I don't have another composite quote for the space, but do have an Okna casement quote from another installer for $6494. I figured I'd pay maybe 2k more for the starmark, but that was just a guess? Turns out I was way off I suppose.
