Milgard vs Anlin Ventura County, CA

#1 Post by Donaldpherman »

Hi,

i bought a 1950's house with the original steel framed windows. A number of them are crack. Plus the casement handles for a number of the windows no longer open and close the windows or lock properly. So I need to get them all replaced sooner or latter. There is any difference between the Anlin vs Milgard for quality or just get what is the best price. My wife and I don't really care too much how they look only if they function and have good sound proofing. This is in the Ventura County, Ca area.

Here are the three quotes I got. Plus I had a salesperson from Renewal by Andersen drive three hours from orange county to give us a quote of $40,000 are the andersen windows made of gold?

MyWindowSolutions.com Anlin's "Monte Verde" $7345
MyWindowSolutions.com Simonton's "Daylight Max" $8125
American Window Concepts Anlin Panoramic Windows $10,121.97
Frontier Windows & Door Milgard Style line series $5,873.15

Thanks!

Way back I lived in Oxnard for 2 years.

RBA is not made of gold, low performing, at 3x what it should cost.
Simonton we are used to here on the East coast, an so so window. The others we do not have.
Will all your windows be casement and picture windows?

The frame width and loss of daylight opening will be a shock for you.

Thanks for the replay. They are currently all casement but the quotes I got are for all sliders.

Sliders will help with both visible daylight area and cost.
