Provia Aspect or Sunrise Standard?
Provia Aspect or Sunrise Standard?
We've narrowed down the estimates for replacing 16 double hung windows on our home in Northern Virginia. We've been quoted $14,400 for ProVia Aspect windows and $12,250 for Sunrise Windows - the Standard version. Both of the companies that will install the windows have good reputations and have been in the business for 25+ years. Are these windows comparable? Is one window better than the other for my area?
Thanks in advance for any advice

Sunrise is better in my opinion. I feel the design in better and the sashes operate nicer in double hung units. The locks, tilts, and weatherstripping is nicer too.

+1.
Anything but the Sunrise Essentials and yes, in that comparison, it is the better window.

I don't know what Sunrise did with the Essential platform regarding it's name, but I think it's been killed off and rightfully so. I think that "drop" window is now a MI entry level window and it's just as horrible from what one of my larger Sunrise New England colleagues told me.

Re: Provia Aspect or Sunrise Standard?
I'll agree that the Sunrise is better and is good(I'm not a big fan of the Provia window), although I wouldn't put the standard Sunrise in the top tier of performers either.
More importantly, the PRO above me may serve your area (Windows on Washington), and if they do, I couldn't recommend another company more highly. Excellence from top to bottom over there.

I second the recommendation to speak with Windows on Washington before making a final decision. You won’t find a better company to do business with in your area. They offer a line of vinyl windows that are superior to the ones you’ve seen so far.
