Screen removal on older Gapco Chung unit

How does one remove the screen without bending the frame or removing the black channel? The screens do not slide up out of the track, they hit the upper window frame. Thanks.

Ahh, the old Gapco Chung window. The predecessor to the Gapco Wang. I prefer the former.

The presence of the little pull tabs would typically indicate that you pull up on those pushing the screen up into the upper screen track and the bottom kicks out first. Sometimes you have to start with one corner.
