All things being equal as far as install company is concerned, which windows compare quality/function wise to the Okna 500dx. Got a quote to replace 16dh and the cost is over $1000 per window. Had a quote for same window just about 2 years ago and they were about $700 each. Have the prices gone up that much since 2021?
Another question.
I asked owner if they used expanding spray foam around window when installing, and he said that they didn’t. He said that they utilize the factory foam around window, and caulk.
I’ve seen forum pro’s recommending spray foam, so what is the correct method?
The windows used will most likely end of being new type windows which include the nail fin(sp).
I’m located in central VA.
Thanks for any answers.

Re: Replacement Window Options
Prices for windows and doors have gone up dramatically since 2021 as well as the cost of labor. Workers( installers) also have bills to pay and as their costs of living went up they demanded wage increases. Throw in the scarcity of those willing to work now a days and guess what? Wages increase even more.
Inflation has abated although still very high but a resurgence can certainly happen just as quickly as it did in the early 1980’s. Most companies are only guaranteeing pricing for 30 days due to the economic dynamics ( econodynamics) we are experiencing.

+1, that price delta sounds about right for that time period, particularly if the lower number was early 21. $1000 is pretty much the cost of entry for a great window from a great company these days, often times it’s the price for a mid level or worse…
If by chance you used Windows on Washington in the past you’d be well served to stick with what works. If you haven’t, it would be a good time to check them out. Best in the business.
