Okna

#1 Post by Lee24 »

I have an Okna dealer coming out next week to provide a quote for 16 vinyl windows. We live in Wisconsin. I noticed there are a few different levels of windows. Which would be better to consider. This is an old home 60+ years. We’re looking for something that will block outdoor noise and really cut down on draft etc.

Happy Easter.

Where in Wisconsin?

To your point, any product with an attention to detail like air infiltration, something that Okna does very well, will help with noise.

If you haven't called the folks at HomeSealed...perhaps they are the company...but do call them if you haven't yet called them.

Different dealers offer different lines or series of Okna windows.
In double hung I like the 800 EnviroStar.

Did you have the company out yet? Which window did you look at? All of Oknas window are good, maybe not a big fan of the 400.
Post back the details, we can give you more feedback.

Homeseal came out. I liked the windows. Pricing wasn’t bad. Question whether to go with Gilkey or Okna now. I’m leaning to Okna. The frames for the inside seem to have more to them. I want to make sure I don’t loose glass. Gilkey frames look wider. I would be interested in your views.

Quote was for the 500 series. Is there any reason I should consider the 600?

While the 600 is better than the 500, if you are going white/white without an extensive list of upgrades, the 500 is a nice choice. Bang for the buck champ imo.

Gilkey is far from a great window, easy choice here.

We’re going with brown on the exterior, white interior. Other than that and getting full window screens no other upgrades.

You are in great hands with Homesealed. He will be best at walking you through your options.

Gilkey is a mid tier window at best. Bulky, not aesthetically pleasing, middle of the road performance & outdated design. Okna is a clear winner here

We decided to go with Orna through Homesealed. They have been great to work with so far.

Thanks for your help.
