Installation in hot weather?

#1 Post by 5DH »

I’m scheduled to get my new windows installed in two days and the forecast is creeping up to 95 degree and humid. Is installing windows in hot weather a problem? Thinking of things like the caulk not curing, cracking when it gets colder, the windows or frame itself contracting when the weather normalizes, etc.

I’m not sure there’s really anything I can do at this point since I’m on the schedule. Just curious if this is a concern and if there’s anything I should double check come Monday that they’re using the right materials.

No worries at all. The installers will make sure they have plenty of water as well.
As far as materials, most caulks are tested for extreme temps.

I agree with Rick.

I would suggest that you have a cooler with ice and drinks in it. That kindness will reap great benefits.
Water and electrolyte powders are greatly appreciated.
