Window Suggestions or Comments
I need to replace 6 double hung windows in the front of my home. I have looked at so many companies and as you know it's confusing. I decided i wanted to talk to companies that don't require "the spouse" for the high pressure sales technique and this will allow me to decide without all their noise. I am looking at Pella 250 and a Northstar Window Installer. I read good and bad about Pella 250. There is not a lot of information on Northstar windows it seems like they make only one model vinyl window and it may be for lower end remodels. I am not sure. I want a quality window that looks nice. I don't need the cheapest but i don't want to pay 5K for wood windows. Any help is appreciated. Recommendations are welcome. Weather zone is Michigan. If i find the right windows i will add on a patio sliding door and two entry doors.

Your existing windows are what? Wood?
Sunrise is based out of Michigan and is generally considered one of the better vinyl windows on the market. Have you looked at that product yet?

The Pella Spam is weird these days.usdarasy wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 2:41 am It's great that you're doing your research and considering various options for your window replacement project. Since you're in Michigan, it's essential to choose windows that are energy-efficient and can withstand the weather conditions in your area. While Pella is a well-known brand, it's important to weigh the pros and cons of the Pella 250 series based on your specific needs and budget. As for Northstar windows, since there's limited information available, you may want to reach out to the company directly to inquire about their product quality, warranty, and performance ratings, especially for Michigan's climate.
Thanks

Sunrise vinyl= good. Pella vinyl= bad.
To determine good vinyl DH, look for the air leakage test result . You want .03 or less. You may want triple pane.

These AI post kind of suck. Trying to hide links is a nice trick though.meagnescruz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 7:06 pm Since you're also considering a sliding patio door and entry doors later on, it may be worthwhile to ask about matching styles across all products from whichever manufacturer you choose. This could enhance the overall aesthetic of your home.
Ultimately, trust your instincts when evaluating these companies. Take your time to weigh the pros and cons based on real user experiences rather than just marketing materials. Good luck with your decision-making process.
