Hi there! I live in the Tampa area and I'm in the market for replacing my windows and sliding doors. I had a few companies provide me with quotes for hurricane/impact windows. I'd like to get the expert's thoughts on the windows and installers - all quotes are in roughly the same ballpark.
We've also gotten quotes for Pella, EAS and ESW, but feel like PGT's WinGuard and Simonton's StormBreaker Plus are the ones we prefer thus far. We've heard from a few companies that install PGT and Simonton that Simonton's warranty is superior, and I like the fact that Simonton's manufacturing is outside of FL (if I get hit by a hurricane, I'd prefer a company that is not local/affected). What are your thoughts?
In terms of the installers - do you have a perspective on which installers to stay away from?
- WeatherTite (PGT)
- FAS (Simonton/ESW)
- Armorvue (EAS)
- Karoly (Simonton/PGT)
- Window World (Simonton)
- Power Home Remodeling (Pella)
Regards and thanks in advance,
Fabio
